Certifying patch cords with Channel Adapters - DTX CableAnalyzer

You cannot certify patch cords using the DTX-CHA001, DTX-CHA001A or DTX-CHA002 Channel Adapters.

 Wire Map and Length are the only meaningful measurements if you decide to test patch cords with these Channel Adapters.

The Channel test measurement does not include the connection to the Channel Adapters, so the RJ45 plug termination is ignored; the very thing you want to measure. In addition, you will be using Channel Adapter test limits which are significantly easier to pass than the Patch Cord Adapter test limits.
  

 
 
 
The patch cord measurement includes the connection to the adapters per ANSI/TIA-568-C.2 and IEC 61935-2. 
 
  

 

Now the quality of the RJ45 plug termination is measured for NEXT and Return Loss with these specific DTX-PC5ES, DTX-PC6S or DTX-PC6AS patch cord adapters.
