Tone received on multiple cables connected to a switch - IntelliTone
| In certain scenarios, where an IntelliTone is connected to a switch, the IntelliTone signal may bleed off to other cables connected to the same switch. This phenomenon is not caused by the leakage of the IntelliTone signal from one cable to the other. What may be happening is the retransmission of the IntelliTone signal from the switch. Some switches have the capability to run on AC or DC power. If a switch is not properly grounded to earth, any noise (or signals from sources like an IntelliTone) on a cable may be shunted to an ungrounded plane and go right out onto the other cables connected to the switch. Please consult the equipments manual for instructions on how to properly ground the equipment. |
